Cedarburg Police Sgt. John Stroik told FOX6 News the driver of a white pickup truck was arrested at the scene. Video shot by the witness shows a man being placed into handcuffs.

“He was pretty irate. He was screaming,” the witness said.

The witness told FOX6 News the man believed to be the driver of the truck was yelling that he had a medical condition. He can be heard yelling “I’m diabetic” in the witness’ video.

“Seemed kind of delirious,” the witness said.

I heard about it after I got home from the festival. It was hot, overcrowded, and no place for someone with a medical condition to be driving around all that foot traffic.... especially if they had just been walking around down there, alcohol imbibed or not.

A driver taken into custody after a crash that injured two people near Cedarburg’s Strawberry Festival on Sunday is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and possessing drugs with intent to sell, Cedarburg police said.

The driver, 37-year-old Milwaukee resident Kunle Famakinwa, was arrested at the scene and is expected to be charged with having an unspecified amount of marijuana on him. He also faces potential charges of resisting arrest and reckless endangerment, police said.

The victims are a mother and daughter, ages 65 and 38, police said Monday. Their injuries are serious, but they are expected to survive.

Police told the TV station the truck crashed with another vehicle before hitting the pedestrians. The cause of the crash remains unclear.

“He was pretty irate. He was screaming,” the witness, who asked to remain unnamed, told the TV station. He added that the victims seemed in “bad shape” after the crash. “The one woman was screaming. The other woman wasn’t even moving.”

I swear more and more of these types of stories are getting picked up in the ‘burbs by me.... Though I haven’t seen anything about the Audi racing through downtown at 60mph, missing the curve, taking out a streetlamp, a planter, and the south wall of Downtown Pizza.

In the general area I live, NE ‘burbs of Atlanta, this crap happens a lot. The downtown areas of cities are becoming hip and unfortunately along with popularity comes poor/distracted driving. I remember a few months ago a 17 year old guy in a 2sikk #stancenation 240sx was caught doing 50-ish MPH around the city square trying to drift until he hit the side of a building or something. Crazy.

Yeah, no. He might have been there to sell pot, but consuming weed does not turn you into a reckless asshole. Quite the opposite for 99% of the population.

If drugs are to blame, it’s some other drug, not weed.

They never said HE was high on weed, just that he had some and was selling some.

And if is was just weed, we don’t know what it was laced with. He was acting kind of fucky in the video someone shot of the arrest.

The way you worded your statement claimed that drugs were the issue, and what you quoted only referenced weed, so you seemed to be implying that weed was the cause.

“Laced” weed is not at all a common problem either. Maybe in shady neighborhoods in NYC or something, but not for 99.99% of what gets consumed by normal people.

Was this guy on something? Maybe, but weed doesn’t make you act like that. Given his comment about diabetes, I wouldn’t at all be surprised to find out that had something to do with it. Diabetics with dangerously low blood sugar act..... very weird, to put it mildly.

I’m just blaming the drugs, and the moron from the city who decided to come out to the suburbs and cause an issue.

Cancel out either possibility (the doing and the selling of drugs) and and it probably wouldn’t have happened.

Fair enough, and I certainly don’t condone a drug dealer trying to peddle his wares at a big public event where there are kids and families. That’s just wrong.

I still think diabetes might have been to blame, but at the same time, diabetics with low blood sugar are usually pretty sluggish (mentally and physically)... if this guy was yelling and carrying on as he was being arrested, then I have my doubts.
